THE VENUE AND YOUR EVENT.

La Casa Sawtellis truly is a unique venue.  We are a restaurant first and foremost however we cater for small events for 30 guests to 120 guests.  The venue has 3 distinct locations for your event; Restaurant, The Deck or Alfresco. 

Restaurant

We take bookings in the restaurant for tables of upto 25 guests. 

When booking for the restaurant guests must purchase from the restaurant menu. 

Please note that all guests booked for must be paying guests.  You cannot book a seat for a guest that is not eating. 

No deposit is required when booking a seat in our restaurant. 

Should you like to book the entire restaurant for an event, please note that this can only be done when booking for a minimum of 70 guests, and a Tier 3 beverage package is also purchased ($2000).

The Deck

We take bookings on the deck for small events of upto 40 people. 

Gorgeous in summer under the wisteria, we can set the deck up exclusively for your event.  

When booking for the deck guests must purchase from one of our package menus; feasting, pizza and platters or canapes and platters. 

Please note that all guests booked for must be paying guests.  You cannot book a seat for a guest that is not eating. 

A deposit of $250 is required. Your event is not booked unless a deposit is recieved. 

Alfresco

The largest outside area of the venue, the Alfresco can accomodate upto 120 standing guests or 100 guests seated.  This is an outdoor location, and is a highly sought after location for events.  We book out well in advance and  have specific requirements for this area.

For events of upto 39 guests 

  • If you would like this location for your event and only have upto 39 guests you are able to utilise this space, but please note that it is not exclusive for your event ie, another table of 20 guests for a different party may be present.

  • When booking the alfresco for upto 39 guests you can order from any on of the following set menu packages; feasting, pizza and platters, or canapes and platters.

  • If you have an event of 39 or less guests and want this area exclusively  you will need to purchase the Tier 1 drinks package ($500) also. You may then have this area exclusively for upto 4 hours.

  • Please note that all guests booked for must be paying guests.  You cannot book a seat for a guest that is not eating. 

  • A deposit of $150 is required. Your event is not booked unless a deposit is recieved.

For events of 40-59

  • If you have 40-59 guests for your event  you may have this area exclusively for upto 4 hours. 

  • When booking the alfresco for 40-59 guests you can only order from one of the following set menu packages; feasting, canapes and platters, or pizza and platters. 

  • For events of 40-59 guests please note that beverages can be purchased from the bar at bar prices. 

  • Please note that all guests booked for must be paying guests.  You cannot book a seat for a guest that is not eating. 

  • A deposit of $250 is required.  Your event is not booked unless a deposit is received. 

  • A credit card bond is also required. 

For events of 60 plus guests.

  • If you are having 60 or more guests for your event you may have this area exclusively for upto 5 hours.

  • When booking the alfresco for 60 or more guests you can order from any of of the following set menu packages; feasting, canpaes and platters, pizza and platters or the 2-course sit down.

  • For events of 60 plus guests a minimum bar Tier 2 drinks package must also be purchased ($1000). 

  • Please note that all guests booked for must be paying guests.  You cannot book a seat for a guest that is not eating.

  • A deposit of $250 is required. Your event is not booked unless a deposit is recieved. 

  • A credit card bond  is also required.

Drinks Packages

With a great selection of beverages available at the bar, you and your guests will have a wide variety of spirits, beers, wines, and cocktails to choose from. As per above areas different drink packages apply based on your guest attendance level.

Please note we do not allow any outside beverages to be brought into the venue for any events.

Tier 1 = $500

Tier 2 = $1000

Tier 3 = $2500


Cancellation Policy - In the event of a function being cancelled the deposit is not refundable.  NO Exceptions.  For events cancelled less than 28 days prior to the function date, no monies will be refunded. Once final payment has been received no refunds are permitted, no exceptions. Refunds are not permitted post event for food or beverages.  


Function Duration - The customer agrees to begin the function and end the function at the scheduled times agreed upon.  Arrival of guests earlier does not mean service will begin early.  Service will not begin until the designated pre-agreed time.  Service will end at the pre-agreed time with last drinks being called 20 minutes prior to end of function (last drinks is the final serving of cocktails for the event). All evening functions are based on a five hour duration and can commence from 5pm and must conclude at or about 11pm.

Day events must be finished by 4.30pm at the latest.

 

Bands and Music - Occupational health & safety act 2004 requires Sawtellis to monitor sound levels to ensure that they are within Sepp1 and Sepp2 guidelines. Please advise your band or DJ that they are to comply and must cooperate with any member of Sawtellis in reaction to the volume as directed. All music must be finished by no later than 10pm. Bump in band time must be liaised with the coordinator.


Confetti and Decorations – Please note NO CONFETTI OF ANY TYPE (NATURAL OR PAPER) IS PERMITTED. Nor rice.   DECORATIONS to be set up as discussed with the event coordinator. 
Children – Please note that Children at events are to be seated with the main event.  We do not offer separate areas for children to be seated at.  Children must be supervised at ALL Times and kept OUT OF THE GARDENS.  Should children be found to be removing plants or foliage from the gardens bond will be forfeited.


Objectionable Persons and Responsible Service of Alcohol – La Casa Sawtellis reserves the right to refuse to serve any person who is drunk, disorderly, on drugs, consuming drugs on the premises or objectionable or unreasonable.   It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that their guests conduct themselves in an orderly manner.  Should the client or invitee of the client fail to maintain their guests, La Casa Sawtellis will be at liberty to cease service until the person is removed from the premises. La Casa Sawtellis does not serve alcohol to minors.  La Casa Sawtellis does not tolerate Bridezillas, during the event or leadup to the event.  We understand that organizing an event can be very stressful however Sawtellis will not tolerate bad manners, rudeness or intolerance to staff prior or at events, and can cancel an event should this occur.  We only encourage smiles, laughing, and good manners and politeness. 

Bonds - we don’t hold cash bonds.  A credit card must be supplied that will be pre-authorized for a bond amount of $300.00.  Any damage to any structure, furniture, and the garden will result in complete forfeiture of bond.  No exceptions.  This includes picking of flowers or greenery from the garden.  Excessive glassware breakage of greater than 8 glasses the client will also be charged at $6.90 per glass post 8 glasses.  When you book an event at La casa sawtellis you agree to and understands that their credit card will be charged post party should any breakages as aforementioned occur.


Liabilities and Damages - Clients and their guests/attendees or any other persons attending the function are financially responsible for any damage sustained in any part to the premises. La Casa Sawtellis assumes no responsibility or liability for any damages, injury or harm caused during the function by to the host or their guests attending the function, or through use of the customers equipment, or consummation of beverages or food supplied by La Casa Sawtellis. La Casa Sawtellis will not accept responsibility for damage, or loss of merchandise left with them by client’s invitees before, during or after the function.  Customers should arrange their own security or insurance.  For events greater than 90 guests a security guard is required at La Casa Sawtellis.  Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for any accident, loss or injury by any person or persons within a client’s home or venue, during or after the function including outside contractors.  The client indemnifies’ ‘La Casa Sawtellis from and against all costs, claims, expenses and losses suffered or incurred by the client, friends and associates of the client. Public policy indemnity insurance is in place.  We suggest for you to organize to take out our own insurance for your invitees if you wish.
